It would be possible to create a custom document importing an existing document?

Is it possible to create a complete Custom Document and share it to other users within an MDG?

Yes, you can pack this in the MDG. Configure the custom document as a model pattern & share it to the users

can you use any of your existing doc templates for the customer docs?

Yes, but it as to be structured in a way that fits in a generic scenario.

Can existing custom created templates used for fragment generation be used as the templates for Custom Document generation (I appreciate that they might need to be saved or moved into the Document Templates section first)?

from time to time in custom documents I cannot delete a section. Is there any workaround? I am using EA16 - not the lastest build

Yes, there were these concerns in the previous builds. But in the latest build you will face this only in Business Requirement & class template
